A Little Walk Around Yourself

A Little Walk Around Yourself

When you’re criticizing others
And are finding here and there
A fault or two to speak of
Or a weakness you can’t bear;
When you’re blaming someone’s weakness
Or accusing some of pelf..
It’s time that you went out
To walk around yourself.

There are lots of human failures
In the average of us all
And lots of grave shortcomings
In the short ones and the tall;
But when we think of evils
Men should lay upon the shelves,
It’s time we all went out
To take a walk around ourselves

We need so often in this life
This balancing of scales;
This seeing how much in us wins
And how much in us fails.
But before you judge another
Just to lay him on the shelf…
It would be a splendid plan
To take a walk around yourself.

God Is In Control

God is in control,
In each and every way.
He is in control,
Of the things we do and say.

He is with us when we are happy,
Also when we are sad.
He’s always in control,
In good times and in bad.

He is there to fight our battles,
He tells us don’t give in.
When we need his angels,
For us He’ll always send.

When that mountain seems too big,
We need to check our hearts.
Nothing is too big for God,
The waters he did part.

He knows our every thought,
He knows us all so well.
We know He’s in control,
To him our problems we can tell.

He does things for a reason,
He knows what’s best for us.
We need him in our life,
For his control’s a must.

God allows things to happen,
It’s not always good.
How we’d love to change things,
If we only could.

He helps us through the valleys,
When they seem too big to cross.
We must always remember,
That God’s our loving boss.

Next time as we face the mountain,
We need to check our souls.
We need to always remember
That God is in control.

My Cup Has Overflowed

My Cup Has Overflowed
======================

I Drink From My Saucer

I’ve never made a fortune,
and I’ll never make one now,
But it really doesn’t matter
’cause I’m happy anyhow.

As I go along my journey
I’m reaping better than I’ve showed.
I’m drinking from the saucer
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

I don’t have a lot of riches,
And sometimes the going’s tough
But with kin and friends to love me
I think I’m rich enough.

I thank God to the blessings
That His mercy has bestowed.
I’m drinking from the saucer
‘Cause my cup has overflowed.

He gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough,
I’ll not ask for other blessings
For I’m already blessed enough.

May we never be too busy
To help bear another load.
Then we’ll all be drinking from the saucer
When our cups have overflowed.

It’s In the Valleys I Grow

It’s In the Valleys I Grow

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It’s then I have to remember
That it’s in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God’s love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it’s in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan’s loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I’m feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it’s in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it’s in the valleys I grow!
