I Am Thankful For

I am thankful for . . .

My partner who hogs the covers every night,
because he/she is not out with someone else.

The teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching tv,
because that means he/she is at home and not on the streets.

For the taxes that I pay,
because it means that I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a gathering,
because it means that I have been surrounded by friends and
loved ones.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug,
because it means I have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work,
because it means I am in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and
gutters that need fixing,
because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government,
because it means that we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot,
because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been
blessed with transportation.

For my huge heating bill,
because it means I am warm.

For the lady behind me in church who sings off key,
because it means that I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing,
because it means I have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day,
because it means I have been capable of working hard.

For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours,
because it means that I am alive.

Every time you think your life is so bad,
read this again.

A rhyme and surprise

Be careful of the words you say.
And keep them soft and sweet.
For you never know from day to day.
Which ones you’ll have to eat 😉

I’ve learned over time the wisdom of this little rhyme. At times, my mouth still does its own thing, but for the most part, I’m pretty good about holding my tongue. Lord knows I’m real good at it. Anyway, saw it on that status shuffle thingy on FB and liked it.

So the kids’ surprise came in. Our bro Max is here. Yayyyy! We’ve really missed him. He’s grown a lot, both inside and out. We are super happy to have him here. That’s all for today folks. Hubby left to work and he won’t be home until tomorrow morning (again). Gotta clean up and catch up with Mackie.

Beautiful way to start the day

Jae and I cooked breakfast this morning. What a beautiful way to start the day. Daddy had to stay at work last night so it was just me and the kids. The other three were sleeping/watching their cartoons, and Jae asked if we could cook breakfast. So we did. It is little moments like this that I treasure. Kids ate, are showering now, and Daddy should be home in a little bit. Also, we have a HUGE surprise for the kiddos late this evening. I will post about it tomorrow and try to get a pic or two up. Before I could post what the surprise would be but now I’ve got a teenager who might read it. Hehe.

Started the day out beautiful and we will definitely end it tonight with the kids smiles. We’re excited!!!
